Provision for temporary custody until sent to school sec. 63 of the Children Act, 1908.

cf.section 66 of the Children Act, 1908. Varied to meet fact that the bulk of juvenile offenders in this colony have no religious persuasion.

Obligation on manager to report if discharge consistent with offender's welfare. Mr.Clarke Hall stresses the danger of

managers retaining unnecessarily long (and thus umfitting for ordinary life) offenders who are doing well. This is a new

provision.

Power to board out any child under 10 years (with consent of

the Governor) modelled on sec.53 of the Children Act, 1908.
